Grant Presenter Rights to Other Users in Microsoft Teams
Overview:
When hosting a meeting in Microsoft Teams, you can assign presenter rights to other participants, enabling them to share content, manage attendees, and more. Follow the steps below to grant presenter rights during a meeting.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Join or Start a Meeting
Open Microsoft Teams and either join an existing meeting or start a new one.
-
Open the Participants Panel
- In the meeting controls at the top of the screen, click on the People icon (or Show participants).
- A list of attendees will appear on the right-hand side.
Locate the Participant
Scroll through the participant list to find the person you want to grant presenter rights to. Alternatively, use the search bar at the top of the list to quickly locate their name.
-
Change the Role
- Hover over the participant’s name.
- Click the More options (⋯) button that appears next to their name.
- Select Make a presenter from the drop-down menu.
Confirm the Role Change
A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Change to confirm that you want to make this participant a presenter.
Verify the Role Change
The participant’s role will update from Attendee to Presenter in the participant list. They can now share their screen, manage attendees, and use presenter tools.
Tips for Managing Presenters
- To revert their role back to Attendee, repeat steps 3–5 and select Make an attendee instead.
- Limit the number of presenters if needed to ensure the meeting stays organized.
Note: If this meeting is recurring, these changes apply only to the current instance. For pre-scheduled meetings, adjust presenter settings in the meeting options before the meeting begins.
