Iris Connect : issue with tablet connecting to the School's network
To address the issue, School's IT network team needs to follow the below steps:
- Ensure the tablet is connected to the internet, and close any open apps, so you are back on the Home screen
- Then, click the small box/arrow icon over on the right-hand side of the Home screen.
- The tablet will start the update process.
Once the tablet has been updated you will see a new Home screen with just 3 icons - a file manager, the Chrome browser and settings.
The IT Department can now install a certificate on the device, allowing it to be used with the school network.
Theses are the steps, should they require them:
1. Use Chrome to download the certificate file to the tablet, or connect the tablet to a PC and copy the file to the tablet Downloads folder.
2...
a. Open the settings app
b. Select Security
c. Select Other Security Settings
d. Under Credential Storage, select Install From Device Storage
e. Select CA Certificate
f. At Privacy warning notice, select Install Anyway
g. Select Downloads folder
h. Select downloaded CA Certificate file
i. Select Done
j. A message will appear briefly showing the certificate has been installed, and the device will return to the Home screen after a few seconds
