How to open OneNote online files locally

Description: Did you know that you can open online OneNote documents with the locally installed OneNote software? This is helpful because your documents are saved in the ‘cloud’ where they protected, secondly you experience the speed and ease of working locally while the documents are actually in the cloud, and when you save they are saved in the cloud. Users are advised not to save any OneNote documents locally but to access them from Office 365 and then open them with the local installation on OneNote.

To do this sign into Office 365 then choose OneNote from the homepage.

Choose the document you want to open and click on “open in OneNote” at top center of the page.

Click “launch application” to open the document with the locally installed OneNote software.
