How to create content for the Library on the Community Site
Description: This article will take you though creating content for the Library area of the community site as well some top tips.
You can create three types of library content:
1. Library documents
Publications or presentations – the front cover will be displayed in the library. This will generally be for content not protected by copyright, or content produced by Teach First.
2. Library text/media
Information and attachments for reference – for example, a link to an external website that has useful resources.
3. Library videos
Short films and videos hosted by Vimeo or YouTube that have an ‘embed’ code available (see top tips below).
Top tips:
1. Judge a book by its cover
Well-presented content is key. The ‘create content’ functionality has a set list of font sizes to draw attention to your library item – check out the library text/media example below:
2. Tag your content
Tags allow users to search for content from the home page. They also mean that your content will appear as ‘related’ when they view other library items with the same tag.
3. Assign the correct category
Categories are required for library content – there are a number of options and this will determine where your item sits in the library filter system.
4. Upload media
Videos can be shared using the ‘embed’ code on YouTube and Vimeo videos (found on the ‘share’ button’).
