How to create content on the Community Site Marketplace
Description: This article looks at how to create content for the Marketplace area of the Community Site, along with tips and best practice.
You can create five types advertisements in the marketplace:
1. Get involved
The item is action/task oriented (this could be as simple as complete a survey or as complex as write a letter to your MP) and the action is the sole outcome required)
2. Incentives & benefits
The item is exclusive to our community/a section of our community
3. Job vacancies
The item has a recruitment objective
4. Services
The item promotes a service of value to our community/ a section of our community
5. Training & Development
The item is for personal or professional development – teaching or non-teaching
Top tips:
1. Add media and make sure your advertisement is well-presented
Well-presented content is key. The ‘create content’ functionality has a set list of font sizes to draw attention to your library item. Add an image using the ‘media’ tab and your text will automatically wrap itself around the image.
2. Tag your content
Tags allow users to search for content from the home page. They also mean that your content will appear as ‘related’ when they view other library items with the same tag.
3. Assign a start and end date
The content will then display how many days are remaining to access the opportunity.
4. Add links to find out more
You can add multiple links on the side menu so users can find out more information.
